Scenario
Media commentator Muncy Daniels must fight for his innocence and his life after a murder deep in the Poconos. Colman Domingo’s first major television role. There are many elements of this series that are well executed. But I just found it embarrassing. There were so many things in the writing, directing, and acting that felt awkward. Sometimes embarrassing. Some of the dialogue felt so incomplete and so unsophisticated that it gave me a headache. It made the relationships in the story feel incomplete and lacking in depth. I feel like I should have warmed up to a lot of the characters, but I didn’t. I understand techniques for making the audience uncomfortable, but this is different. If it was intentional, it failed to execute. If this is a new style of filmmaking, I hope it passes.
