See the most popular movies and TV shows from writer/director Taylor Sheridan on IMDb, ranked by user ratings.. A landsman, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as an intermediary between exploration companies and landowners.
They are also part Fixer, Problem Solver, and Facilitator, too
Typically, a landsman’s job is to negotiate and finalize contracts with landowners with mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, housing for workers (the man camp), assemble the excavation machinery, and drill the well itself, especially in remote locations.
A very good start to two episodes!
Billy Bob Thorton (Tommy Norris) is absolutely terrific in the lead role. I saw Jacob Lofland (Cooper Norris) when he was on “Justified” Ali Larter (Angela Norris) as Tommy’s ex-wife and Michelle Randolph (Ainsley Norris), Tommy’s daughter, are insufferable and I’m already hoping something really bad happens to them!
Big Green: Good!
Jon Hamm’s character (Monty Miller), who owns the company and is Tommy’s boss, may represent my hopefully unfulfilled fears for this budding series. Put succinctly, I’m afraid that creator/writer Taylor Sheridan might adopt a sticker mentality and reduce the series to: Big Oil: Bad!
If that happens, I’ll change my rating and walk away!
